Personal Bio

Meridian Health Services, Annex, Muncie -Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Diagnosing, educating and prescribing psychotropic medications.

I am is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with multiple years of experience in the psychiatric field, specializing in managing care for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics from all walks of life. I have experience with the treatment of mood disorders, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Insomnia, PTSD-related insomnia, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, gender identity, perinatal/postpartum mental health, and chronic mental illness through psychiatric assessment and medication management.

With my experience as a Registered Nurse Float, I always take into account her client’s overall health status when diagnosing and implementing treatment planning. With my knowledge I continue to attend trainings and educations seminars to optimize the care given.

I achieved my Master of Science in Nursing in 2020 with a specialty in Psychiatry. Prior to achieving my master’s degree, I was honored with a full ride scholarship for my bachelor’s degree in nursing by my employer for high achievements within the organization. I constantly strive to gain the education needed to help give the best evidence-based care to my patients. I decided to join Meridian to give my services to the underserved population. I feel they deserves optimal care and consideration. I believe the community Meridian Health provides care to deserves to be heard with understanding and compassion.

What drew me into the mental health field was my experience watching people close to her with mental health illnesses that weren’t being made a priority. I watched those people ultimately suffer with managing their daily lives. I saw there was a lack of understanding and education regarding their diagnosis and witnessed the negative results that came from that. I felt the idea of mental health wasn’t taken as serious as physical health and the stigmas of mental illness resulted in relapse that could have been prevented. I noticed the disconnect between general health providers and mental health providers and with my background in general health practices and mental health I continue  to attempt to bridge a gap that should be connected in treating the “whole person.”
